What’s a hair hangover you ask? A lot like a normal hangover, only the victim is… YOUR HAIR.
The night before always seems like a good idea when you’re having shots of tequila and staying out until the early hours. Then we wake up feeling regret and wishing we would of just stuck to the odd G & T and called it at midnight.
Very much like your hair hangover, we know you may drown it in the wrong products, burn it with heat and consume little water if any! Leaving you waking up looking in the mirror thinking, holy shit, what happened last night.
Well we have the answer to all your prayers and we can promise you will NEVER have a hair hangover ever again! Yay.
First point of attack is combat your “Hair Ache”. Again, lots like a headache but for your hair. Just like a headache the one thing you 100% need is WATER. Your hair is dehydrated and super thirsty. The more water you drink the better! Start off by waking up every morning and drink 1 pint of water there and then. Fill up a 2 litre bottle and take that to work with you. Do not go anywhere without this bottle, this bottle of water is your new best friend. It will keep you safe and it will keep your hair hangover at bay.
Tired Hair. Do you wake up and your hair is tired, lifeless, deflated and limp? A lot like our posture when we are hungover, we need something to give us a boost!
We recommend using a volumizing product like dry shampoo or sea salt spray. This will give your hair the added texture in order for you to wear it loud and proud! We encourage a form of boho styling when it comes to doing your hair, so nothing too neat, but still nothing like you just woke up and crawled out of bed. Hair up? NOT TODAY!
We understand that timing is a huge issue for people in the morning but what we don’t want is people thinking we have a hair hangover and all we could be bothered to do was tie it up and get it out of the way. Your hair is your best accessory; you need to show people how amazing it can look. Now, I know what you are thinking, this seems like a lot of effort. That’s where you are wrong!
You can beat the hair hangover by a little forward thinking. There are so many ways you can style your hair without using heat to create a beautiful look that will get people asking you how you look so good in the morning?
Try plaiting your hair before bed. There are so many variations of you doing this. The traditional double dutch braid – Two plaits either side of your parting. We recommend doing this when it’s wet and letting it dry overnight. Undo in the morning and see your beautiful beachy waves.
If youre wanting something a little smoother? You can also wrap the hair around your head so its nice and flat, again this is easier to do when its wet. Pin the hair in position and undo in the morning. You may have to tweak it slightly but you will be amazed at the result.
Finally, what’s the first thing you think about when you wake up from a traditional hangover? FOOD.
